I have a new Thunder 9 UC and I love it. It shoots to point of aim and the grips fit my hand very well. This makes it a "soft shooter" even with hot loads like Win Silvertips. I do have a bit of an issue with the factory 13 round magazines, though. Try as I might, I was unable to load the 13th round, bare handed. (I did not take a loading tool to the range.) While loading the 11th and 12th rounds, I noticed the magazine feed lips flexing much more than I would have expected. While the pistol fed both ball and JHP rounds successfully, in spite of this, I'm concerned about long-term durability and either bending or cracking, down the road. Also, one of the two factory supplied mags had a "lifter platform" ( I'd call it the magazine follower) with a hole in the casting. Either a casting short shot or acid damage from too long a stay in the plating prep tank. This kind of quality issue is not acceptable in a $40 magazine, in my opinion. The factory agreed to send a new lifter as a warranty item, but I'm still waiting on delivery. Would love to see this mag in stainless or plated, too. My perspiration eats carbon steel, and I do plan to carry this piece.
NOTE FROM YOURGUNPARTS : PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE WRITER OF THIS REVIEW IS ANTICIPATING A PROBLEM WHICH WE HAVE NEVER SEEN IN OVER 8 YEARS OF BUSINESS. WE HAVE SOLD THOUSANDS OF THESE MAGAZINES AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH BENDING OR CRACKING . IN TERMS OF NOT BEING ABLE TO LOAD THE 13 ROUND, IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE TROUBLE LOADING THE MAGAZINE TO THE FULL CAPACITY, WE RECOMMEND USING THE ADCO SUPER THUMB 2 LOADER. ALSO, PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT BERSA STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT WITH THEIR WARRANTY.
